It took Hollywood film legend Paul Newman nearly 30 years to win an Academy Award for Best Actor, after being nominated for the coveted Oscar no less than six times beforehand. In all, Newman garnered eight Best Actor nods, winning once, plus being handed an Honorary Oscar and landing an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. And these awards are on top of the many other accolades he collected during a remarkable and accomplished 55-year career.
