On the evening of Thursday, October 17, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler was arrested after reportedly rear-ending another car while intoxicated. In addition to the DUI charge, Cutler was also found to be illegally in possession of a firearm. The incident occurred in Franklin, Tennessee, at 5 pm. Officers on the scene "noticed a strong odor of alcohol" coming from Cutler, according to a statement released by the Franklin Police Department. He was reportedly slurring, had bloodshot eyes, and refused to take a field sobriety test. He was taken to a hospital for a blood test and was charged with a DUI. Police also found "two firearms in his vehicle, including a loaded pistol," which are illegal to carry while intoxicated. The 41-year-old was arrested and released on US$5,000 bail later that night. Cutler was married to 'Laguna Beach' star Kristin Cavallari until 2022 and the former couple share three children.
