For years now, the announcement of Grammy nominations has been an entertaining event to watch unfold, though often not for good reasons. The Recording Academy has long been accused of struggling to keep up with modern popular music while still honoring the greats, and they’ve also been busy doing damage control for the seemingly unending waves of criticism they can’t seem to ebb.
