▲Perhaps there is something about a song called ‘Creep’ that makes it instantly hateable by its singers. How else to explain two entries for this song title in one list? Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes hated the message of dealing with infidelity by cheating back, rather than just moving on.

▲It seems that the disdain felt for ‘Wonderwall’ is shared by both of the Gallagher brothers. Noel has confessed that he believes that ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’ is a much better song, whereas Liam’s take on ‘Wonderwall’ is that he "can’t stand that song!"

▲One of the most memorable things about the iconic film ‘The Breakfast Club’ is the Simple Minds song ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me).’ The song was rejected by several well-known artists, so Simple Minds agreed to perform it⁠—and instantly hated it!

▲Slash from Guns N' Roses wasn’t a fan of ‘Sweet Child o’ Mine. He described it as an "uptempo ballad" and spoke against how different it was from the general output of the band. He did, however, acknowledge that it had been their most successful song, ever.

‘(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party)’ was a 1986 song by the Beastie Boys, originally intended as a spoof parody of various party-themed songs. But the message didn't get through to fans, many of whom loved it! The Beastie Boys do not love it, however, nor do they perform it.

▲‘Shiny Happy People’ was quite the success back in 1991. But R.E.M. hate it. In a BBC interview, lead singer Michael Stipe admitted, "If there was one song that was sent into outer space to represent R.E.M. for the rest of time, I would not want it to be 'Shiny Happy People.’"

▲‘Believe’ was the biggest single of 1999, and Cher hates it! She had major rows with her producer, and had no say in the element of autotune that was superimposed over her voice. She also hates most of her repertoire!

▲The Australian rapper has admitted that she hates a lot of her songs. While she won’t admit which ones they are, she still performs them for the sake of her fans. Perhaps the only way to guess would be to listen carefully to detect levels of enthusiasm, or lack thereof!

▲‘Money on My Mind’ was a number one single in Sam Smith’s native UK, and a big success throughout Europe. However, Smith is not a fan! The artist's record label persuaded the singer to do something with a dance vibe, and it wasn’t to Smith's taste.

▲Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin really doesn’t like ‘Stairway to Heaven.’ In a 1988 interview with the LA Times, he said, “I’d break out in hives if I had to sing that song in every show.”

▲‘Gold Digger’ was a massive success back in 2005. However, in a BBC radio interview eight years later, Kanye revealed that he didn’t like the song, but he knew it would do well so he agreed to do it. Ironic, considering the song’s subject matter...

▲Pete Townshend wrote the infamous ‘Pinball Wizard,’ which was released in 1969 and has been performed constantly by The Who ever since. However, Townshend describes it as "awful."

▲‘Come & Get It’ was released in 2013 and was quite the success for Selena Gomez. However, she now acknowledges that it was a song she felt she had to do at the time. Plus, Rihanna rejected it first.

▲There are far too many Beatles songs that John Lennon hated to mention, but some of the more well-known include ‘Let It Be,’ ‘Hello, Goodbye,’ and ‘Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da.’ He disliked a lot of Paul McCartney’s songs, and those he felt were performed poorly by the band.

‘We Ride’ was a new single from Rihanna back in 2006. Five years later, she let slip on Twitter that she "hate[s]" the song. It's very far from being one of her biggest hits, so this revelation didn’t cause too much controversy.

▲Singer and actress Mandy Moore shot to fame in 1999 with her debut single ‘Candy’ and debut album ‘So Real.’ She hates both. She also hates her second album, just in case you were wondering!

▲‘Bang Bang’ was a collaboration between Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj. A highly successful single, it's hated by Grande. She tweeted a hint that she wasn’t enamored with it, and when a fan concurred, Grande replied, "Thank God."

▲‘Royals’ was Lorde's debut single, and it made her famous. It's an absolute monster of a hit, which apparently she doesn’t like all that much. She described it to The Music magazine as “a bit of a relic now.”

▲James Blunt understands why people don’t like him, or his music. He has become popular now by being self-deprecating and funny on Twitter. For instance, he has apologized repeatedly for ‘You’re Beautiful.’

▲What do Miley Cyrus' ‘Party in the USA’ and ‘Wrecking Ball’ have in common? She hates them both because they portray her in a way that she doesn’t want to be remembered.

‘Strangers in the Night’ is one of Frank Sinatra’s most famous and well-loved songs. He had quite a different take on it though, referring to it as both “a piece of []” and “the worst song I’ve ever heard."

▲Thom Yorke really hates ‘Creep.’ A lot. Once when asked to play it at a concert in Montreal, Yorke responded, "[] off. We’re tired of it." Not to mention the fact that guitarist Jonny Greenwood intentionally tried to sabotage the song during recording with crazy rifts.

▲‘Holiday’ and ‘Like a Virgin’ were both massive hits for Madonna in the 1980s, and have remained firm fan favorites ever since. But Madonna isn’t so keen. She has said she would have to be "paid US$30 million to perform them again." Don’t hold your breath.

‘I Kissed a Girl’ was a big hit for Katy Perry in 2008. But times have changed, and the artist has admitted that the song contains lyrics that conform to unhelpful stereotypes regarding orientation.

▲In an interview with GQ magazine, Pharrell Williams expressed regret and "embarrassment" for his hit single with Robin Thicke, ‘Blurred Lines.’ He states that it doesn’t matter how he felt or what he meant by the lyrics, the most important thing was that he took to heart the feedback from women who didn’t like the words, and learnt a lesson.

▲‘Where the Streets Have No Name’ is one of U2’s most iconic songs. Bono isn’t such a fan, however, telling WENN that he regarded the lyrics as “fairly inane.”

▲‘The Lazy Song,’ released in 2011, was a highly successful single for Bruno Mars. He wasn’t so convinced though, later telling a radio show in Australia, "It turned out to be bad. I was spending six hours on a song that just wasn't going anywhere."

▲‘Telephone’ was a big success for Lady Gaga and Beyoncé in 2010. But Gaga has a hard time listening to it. She had a bad time during the recording process, so her disdain has more to do with her own feelings than the song itself.

▲‘Sometimes’ was just the second single from Britney Spears, and was released in 1999. But five years later on tour and after remembering she hadn’t performed it that night, she revealed that she had never liked the song anyway!

▲‘Brass in Pocket’ was a big success for The Pretenders, this right at the beginning of 1980. However, Chrissie Hynde was embarrassed by it, and didn’t like it at all.
