You need nerves of steel to pilot a jet in formation. Whether taking part in military maneuvers or as a member of an aerobatics display team, aviators depend on precision flying skills and split-second timing to avoid mid-air collisions. Indeed, if you crack up in the cockpit, you'll be up in the air on a wing and a prayer.
