#BoycottToblerone was touted by online activists on December 20, 2018 upon hearing the Swiss chocolate had gone halal. The outrage was somewhat delayed, as the world famous treat had gotten its halal certification some eight months prior. Halal is Arabic for "permissible," and mostly applies to meat products that need to be killed in a specific fashion, however it can be used in all different kinds of foods to ensure that it meets Islamic dietary requirements. In the case of Toblerone, it only consisted of some minor alterations, as they have stated that the recipe remains unchanged.

However they are by no means the only company to take this diet into consideration. Here are some big brand products that have gone halal.

▲In April of 2018, world famous Swiss chocolate Toblerone announced it would go halal.

All the products from Abbott Nutrition, Ensure's maker, are Halal. Abbott Nutrition makes a wide variety of health-focused supplements.
