It's about that time where Stars fans convene in Frisco to watch our young Stars take the ice for development camp! This year seems to be one of the more anticipated camps especially with the crop of young talent in the system, more notably, Valeri Nichushkin. Come out and check out what our prospects have to offer!
Below is the Press Release and information on times/roster:
FRISCO, Texas - The Dallas Stars will hold the club's annual development camp for over 30 top prospects from Thursday, July 4 to Wednesday, July 10 at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco. The daily schedule includes both on-and off-ice workouts, with all on-ice practice sessions being free and open to the public.
Six of Dallas' nine 2013 NHL Draft selections are scheduled to participate, as well as this year's and last year's first-round picks. The selections include forward Valeri Nichushkin (10th overall in 2013); forward Jason Dickinson (29th overall in 2013) and forward Radek Faksa (13th overall in 2012).
Other notable invitees include forward Matej Stransky, and defenseman Joe Morrow, who was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Brenden Morrow on March 24.
Five players from the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex have also been invited, including Thomas Aldworth (Keller), J.B. Baum (Colleyville), Jake Fallon (Southlake), Greg Johnson (Dallas) and Matt Staples (Coppell).
Development Camp players will also participate in a ball hockey clinic with local Dr Pepper StarCenter youth hockey players, as well as children from the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County on Monday, July 8th from 2:00-2:45 p.m. at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco.
The camp will conclude with a skills event, an autograph session with select prospects and a full scrimmage on Wednesday, July 10. The scrimmage starts at 10 a.m. and is followed by a brief autograph session.

Please note that all on-ice session times are subject to change. Media members are encouraged to consult with a member of the Dallas Stars Communications Staff if they plan to attend a media availability time.
Development Camp started in the late 1990's by the Dallas Stars as a way to acclimate its top prospects to the organization. Over the years, the camp has evolved from strictly on-ice instruction and now serves as a week-long orientation where the club counsels its prospects in the areas of wellness, nutrition, media training and community outreach.
I will be attending on Friday and Saturday and would love to meet some of you out there!
