The Dallas Stars continue to address their defensive holes with the addition of Alexander Peters, the 6'4", 205 pound defenseman of the Plymouth Whalers.

Peters is a defensive minded blue liner who makes smart decisions at both ends and possesses the ability to move the puck with a sharp outlet pass. He is a physical defenseman who finishes his checks, has an active stick and reads the defensive game well.

When asked earlier in the year which aspect of his game he'd like to improve on, Peters indicated he like to see his offensive output increase.

In high school, Alex played volleyball and track and field, so scouting reports of his agility should be very accurate.

Very nervous, Peters was excited to hear his name and the time leading up to him being picked was very nerve-racking.  By way of his game, Stars fans should expect Alex to "stop the opponent's top line and keep the puck out of the net."

"If I get stronger and better with the puck, hopefully that'll help my game as a defensive defenseman and if I can contribute offensively, that'll be a bonus," said Peters.
