Dallas Stars President Jim Lites announced today that the Dallas Stars will play AHL affiliate Texas Stars at the Cedar Park Center on October 4th.

Lites said in a video interview on the Dallas Stars official website, "We're doing our best to create a situation where we could do an American Hockey League game between the Texas Stars and the Oklahoma City Barons or San Antonio Rampage at the American Airlines Center, but we weren't able to get that done this season. However, the way our pre-season worked out this year we had a gap if time between the end of our pre-season and our opening night game against the Blackhawks. So we'll announced today, and come clean that the Dallas Stars will be playing the Texas Stars in a refereed scrimmage.

Dallas will practice in the Cedar Park Center on October 3rd, the day before the exhibition game. It is believed that the practice session will be open to the public, but we can't confirm that at this time, and we will update this article as soon as the details are released.

Dallas last visited the CPC in a formal capacity on September 30th, 2009 when the Texas Stars hosted a scrimmage in which the Dallas Stars won 5-1 in front of 6,323 fans.
