Dallas Stars add another center with Chris Mueller
The Dallas Stars have added yet another center, this time it is the West Seneca, NY native Chris Mueller from the Nashville Predators/Milwaukee Admirals (AHL). The 27 year old Michigan State graduate is not an overly big guy at 5'11" 200lb, spending most of his recent hockey career bouncing back between Nashville and Milwaukee.
Mueller's main experience has been in the American Hockey League (AHL) along with some time in East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) with Chiefs and Cyclones . With over 323 AHL games total, including teams such as Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, and Lake Erie netting a career total of 92 goals, with 97 assists. Chris has also has had some playoff experience with 25 career games in the Calder Cup playoffs, scoring 8 goals and 9 assists. Mueller was also named captain for the Milwaukee Admirals for a 55 game stint with the club.
On to the NHL called up for only 18 games with the Predators, Mueller would score 2 goals and have 3 assists total in his brief debut. My take on Chris Mueller is that he will be mainly with the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate the Texas Stars, but when the inevitable injuries happen, he could be called up to the big club. Mueller has great potential to be a center in the NHL, along with being a future captain.
Also Chris is a right hand shot, which is another plus for the Stars, a club that seems plagued with all left hand shots. I have to admit I'm very proud and amazed at what Stars' GM Jim Nill has done so far. Below is a quick video of nice tic tac toe goal finished by Chris Mueller with AHL Milwaukee Admirals.
