Sam Reinhart could be the best all-around prospect in the NHL, with tenacious defensive play, puck distributing and shooting prowess often compared to Islanders C John Tavares, but most of all, his high hockey IQ
The Canadian center's sure to get top-line status as soon as he hits the Sabres roster, mostly due to his scoring threat and great leadership. Reinhart's abilities could establish a power in the Metropolitan division.
Reinhart, who's father, Paul, enjoyed an 11 year career in the NHL, fits in quite well with a team that lacks scoring as much as the Buffalo Sabres, Reinhart had 101 goals and 153 assists in his WHL career, so whether its setting others up, or tossing pucks in the net himself, Reinhart fills the void.
The Sabres power play would improve mightily with Reinhart, Buffalo's PP was terrible and Sam's addition would immediately impact the man-advantage.
Bottom line is: Sam Reinhart has a complete game on both sides of the ice, he simply does everything well, and from a coaching perspective, he's the guy you want on the ice in critical situations, he's a go-to offensive option and a defensive force, and for the Buffalo Sabres, this is an outstanding selection.
